Resolution No. May, 2006 Establishing and appointing members to An Ulster County Tourism Advisory Board Whereas, tourism in Ulster County is the counties #1 industry in gross revenue generated in the county.
Whereas, the Chairman of the legislature has authorized the creation of a Tourism Advisory Board to provide assistance in promoting tourism in Ulster County. Whereas, the members of the industry should be able to make recommendations on the advertising, marketing, and promotion of the County. Whereas, the recommendations should come from all those in the industry and not limited to the Tourism Advisory Board. Resolved, The Tourism Advisory Board shall be formed with 13 members from varied segments and geography of the industry and meet monthly commencing June, 2006. Further Resolved the Tourism Advisory Board shall meet as needed with the Arts, Education, Tourism, and Community Relations committee of the Ulster County Legislature to bring forth their recommendations. Further Resolved, the following persons be appointed the Tourism Advisory Board with terms expiring January 1, 2008 Stan Ackerman Co-Chair, Rocking Horse Ranch Jackie Appeldorn Co-Chair, Resort Mohonk Mt. House Debbie Harris, Holiday Inn- Kingston Melinda Terpening, Ulster Count Historical Society Joyce Minard, New Paltz Chamber of Commerce Sandi Henne, Hudson River Cruises Jerry Luke, Fox Hill B&B Susan Hurd,Hurds Farm Paul Rakov, Emerson Lodge Greer Smith, Transport and Cultural Services Ellen Ganci, Belleayre Sherri Brittain, Ulster County Arts Council Brian Donahue, Saugerties Chamber of Commerce Further Resolved, a Tourism Council consisting of the following named persons, but open to all those in the industry shall also be formed and meet quarterly with the Tourism Advisory Board.
