Located at 252 Main Street in the heart of Saugerties Village, Hope Farm Press specializes in books on New York State. It was founded in 1959 by Charles Dornbusch, and continued after his death in 1990 by local historian Richard Frisbie.
The Booktrader was opened by Richard in 1985, and specializes in good reading quality books in good condition. Both shops, run as Hope Farm Press & Booktrader, are known as the reader's book store with the best collection of books on New York State, whether in- or out-of-print.
That includes New York State Genealogy and History, Military History - i.e. Revolutionary War, French and Indian War, Civil War; Native Americans (Indians) - i.e. Iroquois Confederacy, Six Nations, Algonquin, Mohawk Indians, Delaware Indians, Mohican, Seneca Indians, Oneida Indians, Tuscarora Indians; Dutch Colonial History, Folklore, Environment, Hiking, Nature, Railroads, Steamboats, and Town and County History.
