Located in the historic Village of Saugerties, in Upstate New York, this enchanting bed and breakfast is nestled in a separate wing of an English Tudor mansion that was built by one of Hudson River Valley's renowned industrialist families. The Tudor dwelling was fashioned after Sir Edwin Lutyens' estate in Surrey, England. This very special b & b room features 18th-century paneling from a Belgian chateau, and has a separate entrance with private bath and its very own garage.

Enjoy the panoramic views of the towering Catskill Mountains, and stroll the 8 acres of landscaped gardens, woods, pond, which gracefully lead you to the private, secluded waterfront on Esopus Creek, ideal for kayaking, canoeing, and fishing. The property borders the 150-acre Esopus Creek Conservancy with nature trails ideal for hiking. The owners are a German sculptor and an American writer. Recently, a new play by the owner was staged in the mansion's Great Tudor Hall.


Only 2 hours from Manhattan, and 20 minutes to Woodstock and Kingston, and 20 minutes to Bard College, Bard College Music Festival, and Rhinebeck.

The Tudor Room - Saugerties Bed and Breakfast

This extraordinary, luxuriously appointed bed and breakfast room (over 500 square feet, the size of a one-bedroom apartment) features a massive sandstone fireplace with hand-hewn chestnut lintel and the ceiling is spanned by enormous chestnut beams, special to Hudson Valley vernacular. For Tudor and architectural buffs, the room (built circa 1922) will give visitors a return to Surrey, England and Elizabethan castle ambience. The Tudor Room has its very own entrance for maximum privacy, and a private bath. This majestic Saugerties estate, which boasts The Chateau Room on its north wing, is situated only five minutes from historic Saugerties village, a premier destination for Hudson Valley antique-lovers, Catskill Mountain hikers, skiers, Esopus kayakers, birders at the Esopus Bend Preserve, HITS and Garlic Festival visitors.

Only two hours from Manhattan, 20 minutes from Woodstock and Kingston, The Tudor Room has all the amenities of sophisticated country living, with panoramic views of the Catskill Mountains and acres of manicured gardens which include a private pond and sweeping private river frontage on the Esopus. Well-behaved, leashed pet welcome for $15 extra per night. Children are welcome at the discretion of parents. Customized breakfast. King bed and one twin. $175-$235, depending on season.
