"Large Check" Hand-Off
At a Saugerties Area Chamber of Commerce members meeting, hosted in late 2009 by the Saugerties Historical Society at the Kiersted House, the Chamber donated a check for over $25,000 to the Saugerties Area Council of Churches, for their food pantry. Seen in this photo accepting and handing off the check, from left to right are: Reverend George Hart and Marilyn Richardson of the Council of Churches; and Mark Smith, Beth Murphy and Nancy Campbell, Saugerties Chamber members who made up the core of the Hors'n Around Saugerties committee. The check money came from the proceeds from the Hors'n Around Saugerties Auction in September of this year.
While this donation was very welcome, the food pantry anticipates even greater need in the coming year, and donations are always encouraged.
