March 2, 2009 - A press conference was held at PrecisionFlow Technologies, Inc. with U.S. Congressman Maurice Hinchey announcing a $3.2 million omnibus package to assist companies involved in the Solar Energy Consortium, including Saugerties' PrecisionFlow Technologies.
Solar Energy Consortium Chairman Frank Falatyn indicated that the Consortium, involving both companies in the Mid-Hudson Valley and area universities with significant alternative-engergy research facilities is uniquely positioned to address many of the world's alternative energy needs.
It's estimated that 30 jobs will be created at PrecisionFlow as a direct result of this package. In the photo below, PrecisionFlow President and Saugerties Chamber Chairman Kevin Brady is shown with Congressman Hinchey, in front of a Solar Metrology unit, which includes technology developed and manufactured by PrecisionFlow.
More than 100 attendees showed up on a snowy day for this announcement, and those present included Mayor Bob Yerick, Supervisor Greg Helsmoortel, Ulster County Development Corporation President Lance Matteson, Clarkson University President Anthony Collins, Ulster County Legislature Chairman David Donaldson, Solar Energy Consortium Vice Chairman Frank Falatyn, and Solar Metrology President Frank Riley, among others.
