Saugerties "Holiday in the Village" Offers Something for Everyone

Saugerties, NY -- Come celebrate the season with your family, friends, and neighbors at the Saugerties "Holiday in the Village" festivities on the first weekend in December. With lots of free entertainment, activities, and merry-making taking place throughout the Village, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

"Holiday in the Village" is brought to you by the Village of Saugerties, the Saugerties Area Chamber of Commerce, and local participating businesses. Thanks to the creativity, hard work, and dedication of volunteers from these organizations, this year's event promises lots of holiday fun for the whole family. We hope that all of Saugerties and the surrounding areas will come together to enjoy the festivities and celebrate with our community.

Special holiday decorations and light displays will adorn buildings and lampposts throughout the Village, and strolling carolers in period costume will be spreading good cheer. You'll also want to admire the windows that Village businesses will have prepared in the spirit of the season.

While there are some scheduled activities that you won't want to miss, many of the activities and entertainment will be offered continuously throughout the afternoon. The Saugerties Historical Society, along with more than ten businesses listed below, will be hosting Open Houses in the afternoon, so stop by and make merry!

Then head over to any of the businesses who are offering free Arts & Crafts. And make sure you get to Village Hall to catch a horse and wagon ride. Most importantly, the man of the hour-Santa Claus-will be meeting and greeting at at the Kiersted House. Stop by and say hello-don't forget your wish list!

The afternoon will wrap up at dusk, when the Fireman's Procession of Lights will make its way through the Village. Don't miss the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting, brought to you by the Kiwanis, at Seamon's Park. It's the perfect way to wrap up a fun-filled day in the Village.
