The 2010 Holiday in the Village celebration will be along these same lines. The date is Sunday, Decembe 5th. As more information becoms available about this event, it will be posted here. THE HOLIDAY IN THE VILLAGE ~~ A Cool Event in a Cool Town! ~~ The Saugerties Area Chamber of Commerce  welcomes you to attend! The Saugerties Village Businesses and the Saugerties Area Chamber of Commerce welcome you to the annual Saugerties Holiday in the Village, a fun-filled event that kicks off the holiday season in our Village and Town. In 2009, the event is being held on Sunday, December 6th. You’ll find fashion and vintage apparel, homewares, hardware, wines, jewelry, antiques, books and gifts galore all in a short walk that includes Market Street, Main Street and Partition Street. After you’ve finished shopping, you can grab a bite at one of our Zagat-rated fine restaurants. Cast your vote for your favorite holiday decorated window. The Dutch colonial Kiersted House, home of the Historical Society, will be open from 12:30 p.m. until 3 p.m. WINDOW DECORATING CONTEST: Select businesses will be decorating their windows for the holidays and they are looking for your vote. You can vote for your favorite decorated window by completing a ballot that the participating business can provide for you, and returning it to DIG or Lux Hair Studio, both located on Partition Street. Voting ends at 8 PM on Sunday evening. Votes will be tabulated, winner’s window certificates will be distributed, and the winners will be announced on Sunday at the tree lighting ceremony in Seamon Park. A press release will also go out to local media and publications. There are 6 awards – 1st, 2nd, & 3rd places, and 3 honorable mentions.
