From: Jackie Appeldorn Sent: Wednesday, August 23, 2006 11:39 AM Subject: Ulster County Tourism Advisory Board and Ulster County Tourism Advisory Council Dear Members of the Ulster County Tourism Board and the Ulster County Tourism Council,
By now, we trust that you have received your letter of appointment to the Ulster County Tourism Board or the Ulster County Tourism Council. We are pleased the Ulster County Legislature is providing this opportunity to share our perspectives and expertise on promoting tourism in Ulster County. Attached is a copy of the resolution creating both organizations. The Advisory Board consists of 13 members representing different segments of our industry, both in types of business and geographical location within the county. The Advisory Board will meet once a month beginning in September. A separate communication will be forthcoming with information regarding the September meeting. At the Tourism conference last April, an additional 20 people expressed their interest in serving in an advisory capacity on tourism in Ulster County. To benefit from the input of all those involved in tourism who are interested in sharing their expertise and viewpoints, these individuals were appointed to serve on a Tourism Advisory Council that will meet quarterly with the Advisory Board. The first meeting will be in November. Council meetings will be open to anyone in the industry who might have particular issues but is not necessarily interested in serving on the Council. Information regarding the November meeting will be sent following the September meeting of the Board. If you have any questions or comments, please contact one of us. We look forward to working with you to promote tourism in Ulster County.
