Saugerties Area Chamber of Commerce members meeting minutes

Wed.,May 27, 2009 at Land & Sea Restaurant

Kevin Brady called meeting to order at 6:45 PM.

All members attending introduced themselves to other members (approx 40 attendees).

Mark Smith gave an update on the Hors'n Around Saugerties event. He mentioned that there has been some vandalism on the horses . . . but not overwhelming. He reminded members who are in the Village to keep an eye on the horses and if someone is damaging any, to report it to the police.

Mark also gave an update on the upcoming GIANT Flea Market set to take place on Sat., June 13 and Sat, Oct 10 at Grand Union Plaza parking lot. So far we have 27 vendors registered for the June flea market but still have spaces if any members are interested.

Cherie Lee gave an update on this summer's Sunset Concerts the first Friday of each month in June, July, August and September.

Barbara Bravo gave a summary of the upcoming Saugerties Artists Tour on track for Aug 8 & 9, 2009.

Judith Spektor announced the opening of the very successful Saugerties Farmers Market to take place starting Sat., May 30 and every Saturday during the summer at the Cahill School parking lot.

Mike Hein, the recently elected Ulster County Executive, spoke to the members about his vision and priorities for Ulster County. He encouraged members to visit the Ulster County website to stay abreast of important events and information for the County. There were many questions asked of Mr Hein by members.

The meeting was adjourned at approx 8:30 PM.
