156 Acre Nature Conservancy in the Village of Saugerties View from Barclay Heights Print for sale - see order info below While Saugerties is our home base, our purpose is to protect the Esopus Creek watershed. Established in July 2003 as a nonprofit corporation, ECC is among the newest land trusts in the State of New York. Working with the Catskill Center for Conservation and Development and enjoying remarkable private and public support, we have acquired a 156-acre natural environment. The property shares a mile of shoreline with the upper Esopus Creek in Saugerties. Its name – Esopus Bend Nature Preserve. That’s just the beginning. Going forward, we will provide public access to the preserve, create hiking trails and offer educational programs. Working with landowners and other environmental groups, we support the protection of additional environmentally sensitive properties. The Esopus Creek Conservancy welcomes, indeed encourages, your involvement and support. Esopus Creek Conservancy, Inc.
